Client Registration and Questionnaire/Document Workflow Options

Through feedback from our DirectLaw firms, and based on some of our own market research data, we created an alternate client registration and workflow process to enable prospective law firm clients to, in effect, Try Before You Buy. 

We call it our "short-form" registration process.

"Short-form" registration enables prospective clients to access the online Questionnaire associated with a document by simply providing an email address and entering a password.  By not requiring the prospective client to enter all personal data and payment upfront, they are given an opportunity to see how the process works and know what to expect.  They can see what types of questions will be asked, and they can see what the firm's MyLegalAffairs client space looks like and generally better understand how they can interact with the firm online. 

The ultimate goal is that the prospect will begin working on the online Questionnaire; invest some level of time in it; and as a result will ultimately buy.  When the decision is made to purchase, completion of the "long-form" registration is required (first/last name, complete address, phone number and acceptance of the firm's Limited Services Agreement (LSA).

We understand that not all firms will want to use this new registration process.  Therefore, we give you a choice.  The default is the new short-form registration.  However, if you prefer one of the alternates below, please contact us via this support portal and we'll be happy to change your platform to the registration process you prefer.  NOTE:  If your DirectLaw subscription was purchased prior to January 2011, your platform was likely set up using registration #1 (outlined below).  If you want to change to another workflow, please let us know.

Registration Option #1 -- Long-Form, Upfront Payment

Registration Option #2 -- Short-Form, Pay Before Questionnaire Submitted to Firm

Registration Option #3 - Long Form, Pay Before Questionnaire Submitted to Firm

NOTE: This differs from Option #1 as it allows a client to access the online Questionnaire before payment.  Option #1 requires payment before access is granted to the online Questionnaire and overall client space.
